City of Bywater

An ancient town of Halflings, Bywater has existed side by side with the elves for centuries, and more recently, has been part of both the Graecian Confederation and the later Graecian Empire. It is the easternmost town in the empire, and is the gateway, through Fortress Perioeci, to the blasted ruins of Midgaard and beyond them, Maldoth and the east. To the north, a road leads to Fortress Palaestras, which guards the northeast border of the Empire from attack by orcs. Bywater carries on trade with all parts of the Empire, including Graecia and Faerindor. Halfling merchants have also, since the recent link with Maldoth, begun to take caravans east to both Maldoth and Greyhaven, to trade for both native and Eletari goods. Bywater is currently ruled from a distance by Emperor Agamemnon of Graecia, with some power falling to the Mayor of the city.

Greyhaven

During the destruction of the ill-fated city of Midgaard by the dragons, the worshipers of Mithgilran, the god of knowledge and life, were led to safety by their god in the guise of a large grey wolf. They were brought to the fertile coastal plains of the Misty Sea far to the south of what has now become the Blasted Lands. There they settled down and founded the town of Greyhaven. The people of Greyhaven are enterprising people skilled in various crafts and have among them some of the best craftsmen around. They are also a simple people of faith who have refused to expand their town into a city despite the increased trading traffic since the first explorers from Greyhaven established contact with the Eletari. Greyhaven is under the charge of the Scribe of Greyhaven who is currently, Lorthan.

Since then, the quiet farming village has become a bustling place as traders and adventurers alike travel through as they head towards the Imperial City of Chang-An to the north. Many often stop to rest in the famed Dragon Gate Inn which is reputed to be one of the best in the whole of Eletar if not the best. The peasants of Dragon Gate are friendly to strangers to their village when approached but generally prefer to go about their own business.
