Here are some of the more common commands which you will find extremely useful while mudding in Alsherok: 'Eat foodname' and 'drink watersource' will let you eat and drink from the food and water containers in your inventory. This helps to prevent your character from suffering of hunger and thirst.
'Areas' will give you a list of areas currently found in the Lands and their recommended player levels for those who wish to explore there.
'Pull levername' and 'push buttonname' will make your character manipulate buttons or levers found in some rooms throughout Alsherok. These buttons and levers do a variety of things from opening new doors to disarming deadly traps.
'Time' and 'weather' will show you the current time in Alsherok which is useful for determining daytime and nighttime while the weather command will show you the current weather of the area which you are in. You will have to be in an outdoor area to see the current weather. This is important for the functioning of certain spells, especially Druidic ones.
'Bury itemname' and 'dig' will bury the specified item into the ground. This hides items under the dirt for you to dig up later. Likewise, the dig command unearths any buried items in the ground provided that you are successful in the dig skill.
'Sacrifice corpse' and 'sacrifice itemname' will destroy the specified item providing that it is on the floor of the room you are currently in. This permanently destroys the sacrificed corpse or item and you get one gold coin per sacrificed item for keeping the world clean. Some deities will also give you favor points for sacrificing things. Just don't ever sacrifice things that belong to another player without his or her permission to do it.
'Affected' will show you what spells currently affect your character and how long before they wear out. Common effects include spells such as armor, shield and flying.
'Title titleline' can be used only after your character reaches level ten. This command changes the line following your character's name on the who list. For example if the character Rathian typed in the command 'title the Lord of the Smurfs', all players who type the command 'who' will see his name as "Rathian the Lord of the Smurfs". Titles are used for fun and also for role-playing purposes. They may be anything that is not vulgar or insulting to others.
'Finger playername' can only be used to gain some information on players who are the same or lower in level as yourself. This information includes e-mail addresses, homepages and when they last came on Alsherok.
The aliasing feature, 'alias shortcommand longcommand' and 'unalias shortcommand' are very useful to have set on your character. These commands provide short forms for almost every command you can think of. For example, if you wanted to condense the command 'cast shockshield' into something as simple as 'cs', then you merely type 'alias cs cast shockshield' once. From then on, every time you enter the command 'cs', you will get the spell shockshield cast. The command 'unalias cs' for example will remove the 'cs' short form from your alias list. You can only store up to 30 aliases and these are saved on your character, so there is no need to redo them every time you enter the game. To get a full list of your current set aliases, enter the command 'alias'.
